About the Opportunity:
Our client, a high-growth leader in the FinTech industry, is looking for a skilled Technical Lead to join their team for a 6-month Contract-to-Hire engagement. This project involves guiding an Application Development team in building a real-time platform focused on the syndicated loan market, which will deliver unprecedented transparency and secure data access to global financial participants. This is a pivotal, high-impact role where you will shape a new product vertical, leading the design of performant and secure applications that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving technical excellence and project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Technical Delivery: Leading a squad of engineers to develop front- and back-end applications, ensuring quality, performance, and cloud-based scalability.
- Architectural Leadership: Serving as the technical authority, guiding code reviews, architectural discussions, and enforcing security best practices.
- Solution Design: Partnering with Product and UX teams to translate complex client needs into actionable, prioritized technical tasks.
- Mentorship: Providing day-to-day technical guidance to unblock challenges, onboarding new engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Operational Excellence: Building test automation across the full stack and identifying new tools/frameworks to improve team productivity.
We are looking for a seasoned technologist who balances deep technical depth with strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of full-stack development experience.
- Deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot (backend) and React/Angular with TypeScript (frontend), as well as a strong foundation with REST APIs, GraphQL, and both SQL/NoSQL database technologies. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, with a proven track record of leading technical projects or squads within an Agile environment.
- Experience with Engineering Best Practices including Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, and the ability to weigh competing priorities to make sound architectural decisions.
- Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in Financial Services, specifically syndicated loans or leveraged finance.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing platforms.
- Experience with advanced UI/Charting libraries (e.g., AG Grid, D3) and end-to-end testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium).
