About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the self-driving vehicle and robotics industry, is looking for a skilled Technical Program Manager to join their Advanced Hardware Engineering (AHE) team for a 6-month engagement. The AHE team is responsible for delivering the compute, controls, infotainment, telematics, and electrical components that power the future fleet of self-driving vehicles. This role focuses on leading AHE Operations, including Quarterly Planning and budgeting, and leading the definition, development, and roll-out of AI automation tools designed to empower AHE TPMs and Engineering to significantly elevate productivity via agentic integration across JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and Google Suite. This is a high-impact role that requires a passionate servant leader who can work cross-functionally and influence without formal authority.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading AHE Operations: Driving the Quarterly Planning process, budgeting, and various operational improvements, such as developing systematic approaches to JIRA planning and issue management frameworks.
- Leading AHE AI tools and scaling: Defining, developing, and rolling out AI automation tools that empower AHE TPMs and Engineering, focusing on agentic integration across productivity platforms.
- Driving Issue Resolution: Owning AHE’s JIRA hygiene and issue-resolution targets, supporting the team in resolving critical issues and cross-team requests.
- Configuration Management: Working with cross-functional teams to streamline firmware configuration across different project phases.
- Communicating Status: Developing and maintaining standard reports and one-pagers to communicate program status, risks, issues, and achievements concisely and effectively to key stakeholders and leadership.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 6 years of experience in Technical Program Management, with a strong track record of leading and delivering complex cross-functional programs across hardware and/or software.
- Deep expertise in end-to-end product development processes with proficiency in tools required to manage complex programs (i.e. Gantt charts, risk tracking and reporting, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.).
- Proven understanding of AI/LLMs: Familiarity with Large Language Models, prompt engineering, and proficiency in agentic coding workflows using IDEs (like Cursor, Claude Code, Visual Studio Code).
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor communications to different audiences.
- BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent job experience.
