About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leader in the FinTech sector, is looking for a skilled  Technical Program Manager  to join their team for a 4+ month engagement. This is a critical role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and has a deep understanding of financial services, particularly within the credit card or payments space. You will be instrumental in driving the technical execution and delivery of our credit card initiatives, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and a world-class user experience. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to define, scope, and prioritize new end-to-end features based on market needs, user feedback, and business objectives.
  • Work with finance and operations teams internally and vendors to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all financial transactions.
  • Forecast future transaction volumes and user growth to ensure the underlying infrastructure can scale effectively.
  • Build dashboards for KPIs and reports to monitor progress against these metrics and collaborate with data scientists and analysts to extract actionable insights.
  • Work with finance and product teams to refine and validate the financial models and business cases for new features or market expansions.
  • Proactively identify potential technical, operational, and compliance risks related to the card program and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Prepare and present regular updates to executive leadership on program health, key performance indicators, risks, and progress against strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with security and risk teams to continuously improve fraud detection models, rules, and prevention mechanisms.
  • Coordinate efforts between our organization and vendor teams during major incidents affecting the card program, ensuring clear communication and efficient resolution.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure technical readiness and support for promotional events, product launches, and other marketing initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally within a startup.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex system architectures and technical dependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting, and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with blockchain technology or cryptocurrencies (Nice to have).
  • Deep understanding of the financial services industry, with specific experience in credit cards, payments, or banking products (Nice to have).
  • Experience working with international teams and understanding of global regulatory requirements (Nice to have).
