Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 6+ months
Pay Range: ~60-70/hr
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid in Foster City, CA
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in Autonomous Mobility, is looking for a skilled Technical Program Manager to join their AI & Autonomy team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves working cross-functionally to drill-down corporate strategy into tactical road maps, develop project schedules, identify milestones, and facilitate effective execution at each stage of the growth curve. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Translate Strategy to Roadmap: Working with department leaders to translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed product road maps, timelines, and deliverables.
- Team Enablement: Ensuring engineering teams understand their priorities and have the tools and organizational frameworks in place to execute at all times.
- Process & Reporting: Defining and managing process and regular meetings, and establishing standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to key stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments.
- Risk Management: Ensuring problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively ensuring that risk mitigating actions are ongoing within the engineering teams.
- Decision & Planning Support: Setting the agenda for key decisions to be made at each meeting to eliminate bottlenecks and retire risks, and driving quarterly planning to ensure team goals meet company initiatives.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting.
- Deep expertise in software, hardware, or automotive development processes, and a strong understanding of firmware development and architecture. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals, with a strong track-record in managing complex cross-functional projects.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and JIRA. (Note: Education requirement is a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent job experience.)
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team, with an ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience.
