About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the autonomous vehicle technology industry, is looking for a skilled Technical Program Manager to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves working cross-functionally with engineering leaders across software, hardware, vehicle engineering, and product to drive corporate strategy into tactical, detailed roadmaps that facilitate effective execution. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running to ensure that issues in software and hardware are resolved in a timely manner to maintain safety and operational success.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Issue Resolution: Working with product teams to identify and triage product issues while coordinating with engineering managers to drive solutions to completion.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Developing comprehensive project schedules, identifying milestones, estimating budgets, and maintaining clear communication regarding project progress.
- Systems Hardening: Collaborating with engineering leads to harden both software and hardware systems to proactively prevent future issues from surfacing.
- Risk Management: Highlighting potential project risks and proactively building out risk-mitigating actions to ensure seamless execution.
- Executive Communication: Building and delivering executive presentations on program status, identifying risks/issues, and documenting accomplishments.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent job experience.
- Deep familiarity with software development processes and proficiency in tools required to manage complex projects (e.g., Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, JIRA).
- Strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects and building working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions.
- Ability to keep the big picture in focus while providing clear, well-structured, and concise communication tailored to each audience.
