About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the autonomous vehicle industry, is looking for a skilled Test Engineering Technician to join their Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team for a 6+ months engagement. This project involves setting up, executing, and debugging tests on sensors and compute hardware to ensure high performance and high reliability. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Testing prototype related assemblies with support from engineering & R&D.
- Providing expert inputs in the prototype phase and design review meetings for related assemblies.
- Working closely with Engineers to ensure that products under development are optimal for manufacturability.
- Final testing of components and assemblies.
- Performing Failure Analysis and repair of Assemblies.
- Generating detailed Failure Analysis Reports as required.
- Creating and reviewing test instructions and providing inputs for refinement and improvements.
- Testing and trouble-shooting Engineering prototype units as required.
- Maintaining test equipment calibration and lab tools.
- Supporting Design automation test fixtures and related software/firmware.
- Testing and calibration of sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
- Following drawings, written and verbal instructions to complete work assignments.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical/electronics/mechanical technology, or equivalent with 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar role.
- Deep expertise in electrical subsystems, including experience reading electrical schematics and/or engineering drawings, assembling and repairing wiring harnesses, and proficiency with EE lab equipment (Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, etc). This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience in a detail-oriented role, ensuring test plans are executed with high fidelity.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
- Bonus Qualifications: Experience reworking PCBAs; Shock, vibration, thermal, and IP test experience; EMC test experience; Automotive ECU test experience; Familiarity with Linux command line.
