About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in the data storage and electronics industry, is looking for a skilled Test Engineering Technician to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves performing hands-on testing, debugging, and validation of electronic assemblies and subsystems within a lab environment. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, troubleshoot failures, and deliver results quickly to ensure products meet rigorous performance and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:
- Testing and Validation: Execute complex test plans for electronic assemblies and subsystems in a lab environment.
- Troubleshooting: Debug failures down to the component level and document results clearly for engineering review.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with design and quality engineers to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Technical Tooling: Operate and maintain a wide range of test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators.
- Hardware Support: Perform hands-on physical tasks such as soldering (including fine-pitch rework) and cable harnessing.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 1–3+ years of experience in a similar test technician role.
- Strong proficiency in soldering (including fine-pitch rework) and cable harnessing.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.
- Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) to capture, analyze, and interpret electrical signals and data.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and technical findings to the project team.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals in a fast-paced environment.
